Zebiak was contacted by a long standing customer C.J. Smith Contracting to secure a settling building. This 40-year-old house sits on the edge of a beautiful creek, Mundy Creek Tributary 1. The homeowners had decided to undergo extensive renovations and exterior landscaping. They did notice a crack in the NW corner of the foundation, which the engineer attributed to a settling strip footing due to erosion from the adjacent creek. Zebiak worked in conjunction with geotechnical and structural engineers to propose and then execute a helical pile solution that would secure the foundation from any further settlement. The homeowners could then confidently move forward with their interior repairs and renovation.
